Hello, my name is Arti Bhakta and for anyone who knows me knows that whenever you walk into my home it smells like something is burning - in a good way :p. You will always find me burning candles, incenses, resins, and diffusing essential oils. I have always believed in following a natural and holistic lifestyle and aromatherapy plays a big part in that. The effects that scent can have on the physical and emotional well being of a person is deep-seated. I want to share this with those around me and help to find natural “medicines” for the body, mind and spirit. We are more than just our physical form (body), we should take care of our mind and spirit as well. Scent can oftentimes be linked to awakening.
Scentual Enlightenment was born from Covid distress. I saw how these massive changes in lifestyle and isolation were affecting my family, my friends and my own physical and mental well-being. One day I hosted a brunch and I gave all of my friends intention candles, carefully crafted with essential oils, crystals and affirmations for self-love, tranquility, empowerment, letting go and positive vibes. When you combine multiple senses together the outcome can be very powerful. My friends loved the candles and suggested that I start to share and sell them with more people. This moment of sharing my passion and the power of scent turned into an opportunity to share it with the rest of the world. Months and months of research, testing and crafting, in addition to all the support by my family and friends, have brought me here. A space where I can “enlighten” and have a creative outlet to hand-craft beautifully curated scented candles.
There is so much information in the world and it can sometimes be overwhelming. I want more people to know about candles, proper candle care, aromatherapy and how powerful it truly can be.
